DEPRESSION TREATMENT
Depression is a serious, albeit often overlooked, mental condition. Although many of us face days when we are sad, tired, and lonely, depression causes these symptoms on a more constant basis for those that are affected. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) cites that over 18% of American citizens suffer from depression. In Los Angeles, there are many possible depression treatments available - from natural solutions, such as changes in diet and sleep patterns, to clinical solutions, such as depression medication and talk therapy. However, many of those suffering from treatment-resistant depression, where depression symptoms do not lessen or disappear regardless of the treatments attempted... Read more

DEEP TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION
Leave depression behind and start again with Brainsway Deep TMS, a unique safe non-invasive and highly effective treatment. Deep TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) activates deep brain regions which are responsible for depression, generating significant improvement for patients, including those who tried several cycles of antidepressants. Brainsway Deep TMS is a treatment that does not require any hospitalization or anesthesia, and does not entail any memory loss or systemic side effects. Deep TMS requires 20 brief daily sessions, 20 minutes each, over a period of four to five weeks.
In each session, the patient is seated comfortably in a chair, and a padded helmet is gently placed on the patient’s head. A unique patented coil within the helmet creates brief magnetic fields, similar to those used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The magnetic fields briefly stimulate the brain area. After each session, the patient returns home independently and resumes his/her daily routine.
Side Effects: Deep TMS has no relationship to ECT (Electroconvulsive Treatment). Deep TMS does not cause memory impairment, nor require a hospital setting, anesthesia, or restraints. The vast majority of patients tolerate each session without any difficulty.
Patients with most medical conditions are eligible for treatment. Certain conditions require individual evaluation.
